Is violence sometimes the only choice

  • No fucking shit it's the answer.

    Let's just give an example. Let's say a bully is trash talking you about how you're a waste of oxygen then shows violent expressions. What would you do? If you said beat that nigga up like there was no tomorrow then congrats you win a cookie. But seriously, you have to teach that said bully how to shut the fuck up. This is how life is. If You piss the wrong person off then you're gonna get knocked the fuck out. That's how this world works. And if you disagree then stop living in your own world.

  • Vilance is awesome

  • ...A time for war and a time for peace.

    "There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven—

    A time to give birth and a time to die;
    A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.

    A time to kill and a time to heal;
    A time to tear down and a time to build up.

    A time to weep and a time to laugh;
    A time to mourn and a time to dance.

    A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones;
    A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing.

    A time to search and a time to give up as lost;
    A time to keep and a time to throw away.

    A time to tear apart and a time to sew together;
    A time to be silent and a time to speak.

    A time to love and a time to hate;
    A time for war and a time for peace." -New American Standard Bible

  • YES

    It should always be a last resort, but for those that would argue it's never the answer, I would like them to study the history of Mao, Stalin, and Hitler.

    Some people are just plain evil, and the only thing that they understand is violence. This doesn't mean that we should go to violence first, but violence has to be an option at some point.

  • Of course it is

    Sometimes the only way to fix an issue is with violence. Some people simply do not listen to anything other than physical actions. This includes wars (the holocaust would never have been ended without violence) and some criminals who are very violent themselves and must be restrained. Sometimes there is no other choice.

  • Yes, sometimes.

    When you are involved in a violent situation there is sometimes no way to resolve it except by violent means. This is why we have self defense as a legal justification for a violent act. It's an interesting question as to whether violence is the answer for dealing with a situation in which other means have been used to reach an agreement and have failed. For instance, North Korea seems to be upping their aggressive stance towards the US and South Korea and are not disposed to engage in discussions that might alleviate our differences. It would probably be quite easy for the US to use violence, but would it be justified? We cannot really afford to wait and see if they will make good on their threats, but would it be appropriate to just take them out of the conversation? In WWII, the US ended the war by dropping atomic bombs on Japan. The justification given was that the war was going to drag on forever, and by destroying those cities many lives were saved by ending the war quickly. I'm not sure violence was the answer in that case because we arbitrarily decided that at lot of Japanese people would die in order to save a lot of our citizens. But isn't that also a form of self defense?

  • Violence is always the answer

    Most people say that violence cause more violence but by that logic the army and military shouldn't be created in the first place, while I can understand violence may not always work but it's a last ditch effort if someone trying to kill you what is your first reaction, hide, run, fight, call the police, or talk with them and try to make them stop but they won't stop until they kill you so the best one is fight or run then call the police.
    Because by that point they are dead, knocked out, or running far away from your house. So choose your pick, talking to a killer or trying to not die choose.

  • Violence is the answer

    Violence has always been the answer for centuries, only the strongest had the answer by means of violence, this can include war, terrorism, oppression, and politics. Violence is not only shown physically but also vocally, the one being the loudest is the one that is heard.

    Violence is not only humans but in animals, only the stronguest survives and only violence gets you what you want in the animal wildlife.
